Favourite Restaurant in Melbourne

Lately I've been craving food from my favourite restaurant in Melbourne and if anyone knows me then you'll know which one it is and if you know me at all you'll know that it is a Korean restaurant.

Yeonga Korean BBQ restaurant is beautiful to go to. It's recently increased in popularity and it seems to be always busy. I've been going here since 2012 and I love it more every time I go back. The whole atmosphere really makes you feel like you're in Seoul and the owner himself carved the wooden tables and treated them which really shows how much passion goes into it.

This restaurant specialises on the barbecue aspect of the Korean cuisine which is one of my favourites. It's a type of meal that is shared instead of individual meals which means you get to taste everything that is on the table. It's a really fun experience too where you get a coal barbecue in front of you and cook your meat yourself, which makes the flavour better since it goes straight in mouth!

Don't worry though it's not just meat that you'll be eating, they have so many side dishes to eat from that come with the meal like kimchi (traditional spicy fermented cabbage which is a lot tastier than it looks), potatoes, cheesy corn melted on the side and a whole bunch of other great foods. Typically in Korea you also get a soup, but since food is more expensive in Australia, you have to order this separately but I highly recommend this.

It's also in a comfortable location, just next to Queen Victoria Market on Cobden street which makes it so accessible from either public transport or if you would prefer to drive in like I do. The area also makes for great post food strolls to make you believe that you've gone for a walk so eating enough for three people is okay (and don't let anyone tell you otherwise!).

I really hope you guys get the chance to check it out and let me know your thoughts on the place and also your favourite dish. Mine is the pork belly. If you wrap it in a lettuce leaf with some rice soybean sauce and kimchi it's AMAZING!

For all the information on the location, times and menus just click here and it will take you to their website.

Enjoy everyone!
